WHAT DOES IT DO?
The PPE Plastic Melt Filter Nozzle is designed to filter all foreign contaminants from your melt before it has a chance to
block critical flow areas ahead of your injection nozzle. It is an effective yet simple filter designed to be used without
realizing any noticeable pressure loss during molding. It also acts as a color mixing dispersion aid and a good homoge-
neous mixer to ensure complete plasticizing of your plastic materials.

HOW DOES IT WORK?
The PPE Melt Filter is installed in a specially designed nozzle which has a chamber machined to hold it in place. This
eliminates any movement and the possibility of the filter being sucked back into your barrel. The filter has a series of
longitudinal passages or channels around it’s circumference. Half of the channels are open toward the rear and sealed at
the front. The other half of the channels are the opposite. This allows the melt to enter half the channels open at the rear
and exit by passing over a narrow land to an exit channel through a specified clearance between the nozzle bore and the
lands separating each channel, thus filtering the melt while retaining the contaminants in the entry channels. The number
and length of the filter channels contribute to the longer on-stream life between filter cleanings.

CHANGE FILTERS, CHANGE PERFORMANCE.
The Melt Filters are available with various clearance sizes between your nozzle bore and the top of the lands separating
each material channel. It’s this gap that will change the filters performance with various materials.
